Financial and Legal Aspects of Adult Care
Financial and legal issues are at the core of many aspects of helping an aging family member, and planning ahead can avert a crisis by allowing for more options when care is needed. Learn to address more effectively the difficult issues of money, long-term care options, and end-of-life preferences. This workshop provides an overview of payer sources and insurance programs, including the cost of different levels of care and the distinctions among Medicaid, Medicare, long-term care insurance, and other funding sources. The adult care services of Parents in a Pinch that are available to MIT benefits-eligible employees are described briefly.
